Sandusky - A Mountain Lion
Sandusky is just your typical, everyday, run of the mill housecat. He's curious and confident, inquisitive and instinctive. He may live in a 900 square foot apartment, surrounded by a big screen TV, dozens of DVDs, and an always on internet connection, but he will forever be a mountain lion at heart - particularly when he's under the influence of catnip.
Bunker - A Siberian Husky/Australian Shepherd
Bunker is sandusky's best friend, whether or not either of them would ever admit it. Unlike Sandusky, Bunker is 100% domesticated. He is an avid watcher of soap operas and a daily surfer of the internet. He also has a knack for remembering unusually obscure and extremely trivial factoids. Obviously, things have become a bit more exciting since Sandusky joined the household.
Scott
It's a good thing Scott has a sense of humor and is as laid back as he is, because his two furry roommates will, without a doubt, test his patience every chance they get. Scott does make a pretty decent living. However, much of what he earns will inevitably go towards either repair bills for his house or food bills for the two eating machines that share that same house.
Ashley
Scott and Ashley met each other at the vet's office where she works for Doctor Rumack. Ashley was one of the select few who knew the true identity of Scott's "Golden Retriever" before Scott became the legal owner of Sandusky.
Sierra - A Siberian Husky/Australian Shepherd
Sierra is Ashley's dog. Bunker used to have a crush on her before he learned that she was, in fact, his sister. Their relationship quickly disintegrated from one of puppy love into your typical sibling rivalry.
Sedona - A Mountain Lion
Sedona is Sandusky's sister. After their mother vanished while out hunting, Sedona was left to take care of her baby brother all by herself. With no hunting skills to speak of, Sedona had to drop Sandusky off on Scott's doorstep, lest they both starve to death. Eventually, she learned to hunt, and, years later, they would be reunited. Sedona would meet her brother's adoptive family, and, at her own request, Scott would give her her name.
Kashmir - A Cheetah
Kashmir lives at Desert Paradise, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center outside of town. When Sandusky came for an extended visit, the two of them quickly became friends. Kashmir is bright and inquisitive, and he teaches Sandusky a lot about what it means to be wild. He just has a bit of a problem with his braking system.
Mellencamp - A Mountain Lion
Mellencamp is a mountain lion who often appears to Sandusky during his catnip-induced hazes. He is, more or less, Sandusky's perception of a wild mountain lion. Since Sandusky has been raised in a domestic setting, Mellencamp's personality is based primarily upon information from Discovery Channel specials and the Internet. This cougar is older, wiser, and more reserved than Sandusky. It's particularly noticeable, because Sandusky is, of course hopped up on catnip any time Mellencamp is around.
Dickens - A Havanese
Dickens, or Dingus, as the guys call him, is a Havanese, which is a relative of the Bichon Frise. He has quite the Napoleon complex, and he was the first domestic animal who learned about Sandusky. Threats and intimidation helped to shut him up for a while, but he eventually convinced his owner to call Scott about things. It turned out for the best, however, as Sandusky now has a brand new outdoor enclosure to enjoy.
Dr. Rumack
Dr. Rumack is a kindly old veteranarian who knew how well Sandusky was treated at Scott's place. He also knew that, had the secret to come to light, Sandusky's very life would probably be in danger. He therefore gave his word that he would not "out" the cougar to the authorities. When it was decided that Sandusky needed to move, Dr. Rumack had a big hand in getting the necessary paperwork completed.
